1) Set achievable goals

Setting goals is fun, but there’s no doubt it can be hard to feel that you are achieving them. Break your big goals down into smaller ones! There’s no shame in setting smaller realistic goals. By doing this, it will allow you to celebrate everything that you’ve accomplished on a daily/weekly basis! By the end of the month not only will you see big results, you’ll feel motivated to keep pushing yourself! Setting smaller goals will still allow you to reach the bigger goals, you just need to remember to not give up!

 2) Plan breaks

Who else has gotten trapped on social media for hours on end? Don’t worry, we know it happens to everyone. Here’s an easy and doable solution to avoid the social media trap. We encourage you to check social media…during your breaks, be productive and plan small amounts of time a day to check out what your friends are doing. Whether this is during your lunch or a short break in between tasks, train yourself to check during those times. In doing so, it will allow you to not only work productively but also help you avoid the guilt of wasting hours of your day Instagram creeping. 😉

3) Change your scenery

We know that some of you work from home and some of you work in an office! We have tips for both of you!

If you work in an office setting, try switching desks or working in the lunchroom when no one is in there. Take a 10-minute walk outside for some air or take a coffee break to regroup and focus! Taking some time away from your coworkers will allow you to prioritize your time to benefit you!

Working from home can be distracting and prevent you from using your time efficiently on work! Activities such as laundry, cooking, cleaning etc. can easily consume most of your day! So, why not head out to your local library or coffee shop; set up a spot there and buckle down.

Following these easy techniques will allow you to focus on work and get the most out of your day! Not to mention, the change of scenery will allow your creativity to flow! Using this time efficiently during the day means more time later in the day to have fun and relax!

4) Follow a sleep schedule

Sleep plays a major part in productivity and motivation! Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day is proven to increase overall health and keep you motivated. Although we all love to sleep, we encourage you to practice sleeping properly! Did you know that there are apps that will help you manage your sleep habits better?

Apple iPhone’s have the “Do Not Disturb” option that you can set for certain hours of the day, meaning that if you are getting work emails in the middle of the night or your BFF is texting you, your phone won’t notify you until you tell it to. This will increase the amount of sleep you get in the night-time making you less tired in the morning.

Sleep Genius, Pzizz, Sleep Cycle and Sleep Bot are some apps that you can download to track how much sleep you get in the night as well as play sound effects to help you fall asleep and stay asleep! These apps can also help you plan better ways to sleep based on the data that it gathers every night.

5) Set some time for you

We are all human – don’t worry about not reaching your goals every week. Chalk out a time each day to reflect on everything you’ve accomplished and reward yourself!
