Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This policy explains how The PUR Company Inc. ("PUR", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit thepurcompany.com, contact us, or click a PUR ad that links to Amazon. We are located at 23 Kodiak Crescent, Toronto, Ontario M3J 3E5, Canada.
1. Information we collect
When you contact us. If you use our contact or wholesale form, we collect the information you enter, such as your name, email address, company, topic and message. We use it only to answer you.
When you visit this website. The website remembers your language and country choice in your browser so that pages show in the right language. If you press Accept on our cookie banner, we also load Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. These tools collect information such as the pages you visit, your device and browser type, your approximate location and your IP address, and they place cookies. If you press Decline, or do not answer, these tools do not load. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie choices" link at the bottom of every page.
When you click a PUR ad that links to Amazon. See section 3.
We do not sell products on this website, so we do not collect payment information here. When you buy PUR products from a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer's privacy policy applies.
2. How we use information
- To answer your questions and wholesale requests.
- To understand how visitors use the website and to improve it (only with your consent).
- To measure our advertising and to show our ads to people who are more likely to be interested in them.
- To keep our website and services secure, and to meet legal obligations.
3. Our ads that link to Amazon
Some PUR ads on Facebook and Instagram link to our products on Amazon. When you click one of these ads, the link first goes to our link service at purgum.co, which sends you on to Amazon right away. The PUR Company Inc. operates purgum.co.
What we collect when you click:
- Ad details: the Meta campaign, ad set and ad that you clicked, and where the ad appeared (for example, Instagram Stories).
- Click details: the time of the click, the product, your device's operating system, and your country and state or province. We work these out from your IP address. We do not collect your precise location.
- Identifiers: your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and the click identifier that Meta adds to the ad link (
fbclid). We also create a random ID for each click.
Why we collect it. To measure which ads lead to sales on Amazon, and to help Meta show our ads to people who are more likely to be interested in them.
What we share with Meta. For each click, we may send Meta an event that says the product page was visited. This event includes your IP address, your user-agent string, the Meta click identifier and our click ID. Later, we may send Meta estimated add-to-cart and purchase events for the ad you clicked. We make these estimates from summary reports that Amazon gives us. Amazon does not tell us who you are or what you bought, and we do not send your personal information to Amazon. Meta uses the data it receives under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it. We delete your IP address, user-agent string and Meta click identifier after 15 days. We delete the rest of the click record after 90 days.
Automatic opt-outs. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, or if you click from Quebec, we do not store your IP address, user-agent string or Meta click identifier, and we send nothing about that click to Meta. We still count the click, without these identifiers, so that we can measure our ads. The link opens and closes in under a second, so it cannot read choices that you make on this website. GPC is the way to opt out for these links.
4. Who we share information with
- Service providers that run our services for us, under contract: Cloudflare (website delivery and the purgum.co link service), Replit (website hosting), Railway (our analytics database, which receives ad click records without IP addresses, user-agent strings or Meta click identifiers) and Resend (delivery of contact form emails).
- Advertising and analytics partners: Meta and Google, as described in sections 1 and 3.
- Legal reasons: when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
- Business transfers: if PUR is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
We do not sell personal information for money. Under California law, giving information to Meta and Google for advertising can count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out as described on our Your Privacy Choices page.
5. Your choices and rights
- Cookies on this website: use the "Cookie choices" link at the bottom of any page.
- Ad links to Amazon: turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser or device.
- Meta ads: manage the ads you see in Meta's Ad Preferences.
- Access, correction and deletion: email us at hello@thepurcompany.com. For an ad click, include the full ad link that you clicked, or your IP address and the date of the click. We do not learn your name or email address from a click, so we need one of these to find your record.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. California residents have these rights under the CCPA, and Canadian residents under PIPEDA and provincial laws, including Quebec's Law 25. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. An authorized agent can make a request for you; we may ask the agent to show that you gave them permission. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request, and we answer within the time that the law requires.
6. Where information is stored
We are based in Canada. Our service providers may store and process information in the United States, Canada or other countries. Information stored in another country can be subject to the laws of that country.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure.
8. Children
Our website and ads are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
